Worthy Enough

I guess the moment when everything changed was when I realized I deserved so much better. - ReminiscingOurMoments | Tumbler

Hey girl, Hey!

There are 2 words that have been at the top of my vocabulary for the past 5 years. One longer than the other – Legacy and Worthy. Worthy is a word that I’ve adopted into my vocabulary 2 years ago because I now understand the meaning as it relates to life. Worthy is described as being good and deserving respect, praise or attention. The Bible shows me that I’m deserving of more than just respect, praise or attention, that’s all things that people have to give me. The Bible shows me that I’m worthy of the fruit of the land, riches, wisdom and much more. These words are not people driven but driven by personal work. Rather people respect or praise me doesn’t stop what I’m worthy of. I started asking myself if I'm deserving of everything that’s connected to God why do I self-doubt, believe I’m not good enough which allows me to walk in fear? His response was because you don’t see yourself as actually being worthy; worthy enough to believe you deserve all things good.

How does one tap into being worthy? For me it was about giving myself permission to GO! When we don’t give ourselves permission or believe that we are worthy is when things look further and further away. We handicap ourselves with fear, the voices of others and self-doubt. Self-doubt and fear are a beast of its own!! It will cripple you like nothing else in the world ever can because we hold our own strings to fear. It’s easy to blame and cut people off when someone else tells us you can’t do something. It fuels the passion to want to prove them wrong. When you hold your own strings that’s a much bigger battle to cross. That’s why my word has been “worthy”. It’s a reminder that no matter how loud my fear is it’s silenced when I can recognize that I deserve what’s for me. When we recognize worthy for what it really is and not just a word we begin to walk in confidence, our purpose and the desires of our heart.

Get Inspired

My mentor had me make a list of things I like, love, appreciate and admire about myself for 2 weeks. After each day I had to read the items that I wrote back to myself while looking in the mirror. The purpose was for me to see me for me; my worth and to grow my confidence. The key is I could not ask anyone for their input. It's so easy for us to see ourselves from someone else point of view, but the most important view is the one you have of yourself.

Try this exercise and let me know how it made you feel. If you get stuck extend the exercise another week.
